One Direction, an up-and-coming boy band with a lighthearted, upbeat tone, made a big splash on the music scene with hit singles “What Makes You Beautiful” and “One Thing.” Maroon 5 continues to please the crowds, with hit after hit single from their latest album, Overexposed. Youth band Fun. has also had a lot of success after their breakout single, We Are Young feat. Janelle Monae, skyrocketed from the indie charts to the top 40s in merely days. Nicki Minaj re-released her Pink Friday album with several poppy, ear-catching tunes that have taken the radio by storm. With several successful collaborations and single releases, Rihanna continues to reign as a consistent pop princess this year. Coldplay was also seen on the charts after releasing the latest of several very successful albums, Mylo Xyloto. Creating the ultimate in crowd appeal, Direct tv Los Angeles, Kanye West and Jay-Z have collaborated on a very successful album this year, Watch the Throne. The music scene this year has been fresh and alive with new sounds and faces, as well as familiar artists we know and love.

Country music started in the 1920′s and had improved ever since. Blake Shelton has made it to the top recently with his song Over. Shelton was born June 18, 1976.
